RMTI: Kidney/Pancreas Transplantation
The Kidney/Pancreas Transplantation Program at The Mount Sinai Medical Center began in 1967, making this center one of the first kidney transplant programs in the region. Every transplant physician in the Faculty Practice Associates is a staff member of The Mount Sinai Hospital and a faculty member at Mount Sinai School of Medicine. The department is committed to enhancing the quality of life for patients before and after transplant, and routinely performs both cadaveric and live-donor kidney transplants for adults and children, as well as pancreas transplants for people with type 1 diabetes.
