If you suspect you have cancer, or have already received a diagnosis, you may feel alone, confused and frightened. You may feel at a crossroads and uncertain as to the best course of action to take. The most important thing now is to receive the highest quality of compassionate care utilizing the latest research and most up-to-date treatment methods. The healthcare professionals in the Division of Obstetrics and Gynecology at The Mount Sinai Hospital are committed to the treatment and care of women with gynecologic cancer, as well as research for cure and prevention.
The dedicated team in the Division of Gynecologic Oncology treat all gynecologic cancer patients, whether their disease in its nascent or advanced stage. All aspects of patient care, from initial diagnosis and screening to surgery employing state-of-the-art minimally invasive techniques, many of which were developed by our own staff of world-renowned gynecologic oncologists, is delivered, coordinated and supervised by our dedicated team of healthcare professionals. Our special emphasis on building a close relationship between doctor and patient extends through radiation, chemotherapy and follow up care.
Our doctors have a presence at over twenty tri-state area hospitals, which, in turn, has resulted in a seven-fold increase in patient volume and two full day operating rooms every day of the week. The Division of Gynecologic Oncology's close collaboration with the modern Derald H. Ruttenberg Cancer Center, allows us to see surgical patients, consult and administer chemotherapy, all in small, intimate setting, which helps ensure patient privacy and comfort.
Recently, the Division of Gynecologic Oncology became a full member of the Gynecologic Oncology, which has allowed patients access to the latest clinical trials. The division's ongoing relationship with leading researchers in the field of gynecologic oncology has translated into advances in basic science research on the causes of reproductive cancer, all of which has resulted in improved patient care.
The Obstetrics and Gynecology FPA is open from 9am until 5pm, Monday through Friday, although evening hours are available as well.
