Voice and Swallowing Disorders

Your voice is an extremely valuable. Proper care and use of your voice improves the likelihood of having a healthy voice over your entire lifetime.

Mount Sinai’s Eugen Grabscheid MD Voice Center is nationally recognized for its multidisciplinary voice program, offering the highest level of care for the full spectrum of voice disorders. We possess a unique understanding of the needs of singers, actors, lecturers, and other professionals. 

Some of the most common voice conditions we routinely diagnose and treat include:

  • Hoarseness
  • Chronic and acute laryngitis
  • Sinus infections
  • Allergies
  • Benign vocal nodules and polyps
  • Pitch, resonance, and voice function disorders, including those caused by tension or spasms

We also treat complex cases of laryngeal cancer, which may require reconstruction of the larynx, as well as neurological disorders, such as Parkinson’s disease and stroke.
