Biography

    Stephen Krieger, MD, first joined the Corinne Goldsmith Dickinson Center for MS as a fellow in multiple sclerosis after completing his Neurology residency training at Mount Sinai.  He is board certified in Neurology, and was the recipient of a 2006 American Academy of Neurology Scholarship. He received a Sylvia Lawry Fellowship in clinical research from the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. He graduated summa cum laude from Columbia College, and received his MD degree from Yale University. He completed his medical internship at St. Vincent’s Hospital, Manhattan.

    In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Krieger has an academic appointment as Assistant Professor of Neurology at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine, where he is a member of the Education Committee and is responsible for enhancing the Department’s educational program for students and residents. He was named Director, Neurology Residency Program, Mount Sinai School of Medicine, in 2010. 

    He is the recipient of the A.B. Baker Education Award from the American Academy of Neurology. In 2010, Dr. Krieger was inducted into the Institute for Medical Education (IME), one of the 14 institutes at Mount Sinai School of Medicine dedicated to advancing translational research, clinical care and education. 

    Dr. Krieger is currently participating in research on several MS clinical trials, including oral therapies and monoclonal antibodies used as disease-modifying agents for MS.  His professional interests include multiple sclerosis, neuropsychiatry and behavior, and modern neuroimaging techniques.
